How WhatsApp bot works - part 2

During the bot’s flow, you need to collect valuable information that will help you tag or mark in some way the lead/prospect that is talking to the bot.

“Valuable ” information is what’s important to your business, for example: email address, first name, last name, phone number, interest, etc…

You collect the information inside variables. Variable = a pointer to an address in the memory of a computer (in this context, the memory of the server that the bot’s process is running on).

Once the information is assigned to a variable, you can update it, add to its value (if it is a number), and do other manipulations as needed, for example various string manipulations.

When you have all of the information that you need in variables, information like: first name, last name, phone, email, interests, etc.., it is time to send this information to the places where you need it.

First, you send all of the information to some system that can help you with integrations, e.g. Zapier or Integromat.
The information will be sent as JSON or inside URL’s parameters.

Then, if you need to employ more logic on the data, you do it.

Now, you send the information to all of the systems that your business needs to use, like for example CRM, EMail marketing system, Calendar, Data Base, Google Sheets, Airtable, etc…

In the next part I’ll elaborate more on how WhatsApp bot works.
